Glacier I, Charlotte Bay, Antarctic PeninsulaCharlotte Bay sits deep along the Antarctic Peninsula, and on this particular day the cloud cover was so low it merged with the ice domes behind the glacier face. The whole scene compressed into bands of white and grey and near black water. What struck me was the scale. The glacier wall runs the full width of the bay, and yet the icebergs scattered across the foreground look like loose change. They're not. Some of those pieces are the size of houses.
