Lómagnúpur, IcelandLmagnpur rises from the flat coastal plain of south Iceland like nothing else I've encountered. A sheer wall of dark rock, nearly 700 metres high, with cloud dragging across its upper face. The scale is difficult to convey. Everything around it is horizontal, low wetland and braided river channels running silver through green moss, and then this enormous vertical interruption.
