A FUNDAMENTAL STUDY ON THE SEISMIC RISK IN AFGHANISTAN AND VIBRATION CHARACTERISTICS OF STRUCTURESThis work is collection of earthquake risks in Afghanistan and also discusses the vulnerability factors of common type buildings in Afghanistan. Various types of structures have been evaluated both numerically and experimentally using shaking table and photo elasticity methods. Change in type of construction of residential buildings have been proposed for earthquake prone areas in Afghanistan and countries with similar earthquake risks.
