Meltwater and Bird, SvalbardI've been fortunate enough to visit Svalbard twice now, and both times the glaciers stopped me in my tracks. This was shot from above, looking straight down at a meltwater channel cutting diagonally across the ice. The depth of it is remarkable. That opening in the upper left where the channel begins is more cave than crack, and the shadow it throws tells you everything about how deep the water has carved over the years.
