Peak II, St. Andrew's Bay, South GeorgiaSt. Andrew's Bay sits on the northeast coast of South Georgia, and on a clear day the peaks behind the bay are remarkable. This was not a clear day. Cloud wrapped around the mountain's midsection like a belt, leaving the summit floating above it, almost detached from the earth below. The pyramid of snow and rock catching what light there was from the left, bright against the grey. I've always been drawn to mountains that reveal themselves in pieces.
