Rather than a ubiquitous global aesthetic, sameness or iteration creates a crucial scaffold with which the occupant must engage through individuation. This situation is exaggerated by ephemerality and crisis wherein users cannot simply buy a lifestyle. Instead they must lay claim to space through object and alteration as a sign of occupation and ownership.
