Rock Patterns, SvalbardI was walking along a shoreline in Svalbard when this rock face stopped me cold. I'd been scanning for wider compositions, but the colour in these fractured layers was so vivid I couldn't walk past. Deep purple and mauve folded against rust orange and cream, with blue grey slate sheared through at sharp angles. All of it entirely natural. Overcast light was doing exactly what I needed here. No harsh shadows competing with those colour transitions,
